I have found a course I think I am interested in, what do I do now?

It is a good idea to contact the university or college you are thinking of studying at and ask for further information about the course and university/college to make sure it is the right place for you. Many universities and colleges have on-line prospectuses, or alternatively, contact them and ask for an undergraduate or foundation degree prospectus.

Often on an institution’s website there will be contact details for admissions officers, if you have any specific questions, this person will be able to provide you with more information about the course and what it involves.

When you are sure you have found a course you are interested in, the next stage is making your application, see how to apply below.

How to apply to a part-time course

You will need to apply direct to the place offering the foundation degree course you are interested in. Use the contact details provided on the foundation degree course search. Each university or college will have their own method of entry, but it is likely that you will have to complete an application form which the institution will send to you directly.

How to apply to a full-time course

All full-time courses which are taken at a university or college in the UCAS scheme will need to be applied for through UCAS.

To find out if the institution you want to go to is in the UCAS scheme, you can view a complete list of UCAS’ universities/colleges on the central UCAS Course Search

To find out how to make a UCAS application, see UCAS student advice. Then you will be able to send your application online through apply.
